Maryland Club Championships
 July 6 - 8, 2012

Two Divisions:

  • The Elite 8
  • The Open Tournament

The Elite 8:
With Maryland's rich tradition of club lacrosse, this tournament is designed to bring together the 8 clubs that have demonstrated excellence on the field throughout the past decade. It is an invitation only event. We are proud to be able to get the best Maryland has to offer. This includes Checkers, CCLAX, Hero's, M&D LAX, NEMS, Rome, Skywalkers, and TLC. There will be competition for each graduation year from the class of 2013 through 2019. Each club can send only its top representative from each age group to compete in the Elite 8.

The competition will be fierce with every game being a true competition. Each team will receive 3 full games played within their 4 team bracket. Then, the teams will play a cross-over game with each team being seeded 1 through 4 based on their record. The #1 seed from one side of the bracket will play the #1 seed from the other bracket for the championship. The #2 seeds will meet for the third place game. The #3 seeds and #4 seeds will play a cross-over game also.

Al games will be 50 minutes in duration with a running clock. All games will be played on Howard County's athletic turf fields that have a stadium build with stands, operating scoreboards, and lights. If games finish in a tie, sudden victory overtime will be played.

The Open Championship:
Maryland has had a number of new clubs founded over the last few years and the Open Championship is designed to give those clubs an opportunity to compete for a Maryland Club Championship. All interested Maryland clubs are welcome to register for this tournament. Along with the new clubs, the second and third-tier teams from the Elite 8 clubs will be competing in this bracket.

All games on Friday, July 8th will be played on Howard County's athletic turf fields that have a stadium build with stands, operating scoreboards, and lights. Saturday's games will be played on natural grass fields at the same Howard County Parks. All games will be 50-minutes in duration with a running clock. If games finish with a tie, sudden victory overtime will be played. There will be competition for each graduation year from the class of 2013 through 2019.
